Vanessa Feltz on her radio show, featured three local residents living and working on Upper Ground, South Bank in London. Dearblha, Hannah and Tom are residents and members of the SOS Save Our South Bank community action group.
Speaking with Greg McKenzie outside their homes on South Bank, they explained why they are upset about London Mayor, Sadiq Khan's decision to do nothing to help them. Khan has decided not to intervene and stop the Lambeth planners ill-conceived ideas for the re-development of 72 Upper Ground. This allows the developer to go ahead with a monstrosity of an office block 225% the size of the former ITV tower. The new building has already been nicknamed 'The Slab' by Simon Jenkins.
However, these community campaigners are resolute that this is not the end. They continue to encourage supporters to sign the ever growing petition of support. They are also encouraging supporters to email the Secretary of State, Greg Clark MP who has the power to call in the plans for a public enquiry.
BBC London News also featured the story in their hourly bulletin.
