The Green Room is a neighbourhood restaurant, bar and garden created by Coin Street Community Builders in collaboration with the National Theatre. It is now operated by Wright & Bell.
Created on land previously occupied by Coin Street’s offices, The Green Room was designed by recently graduated Benjamin Marks. In 2011-12, Benjamin and a fellow student led a team of volunteers to dismantle Coin Street’s offices. The pair then used the components to design and build a new office and playspace for Oasis Children’s Venture, a children’s charity in Stockwell. The timber framed contemporary space won the RIBAJ MacEwen Award.
The temporary space will eventually be developed as part of the final phase of the Doon Street development.
