John

John attends our Colombo Centre for Thursday's coffee morning. 

John joined coffee morning 6 years ago and started the Wednesday morning group with his friend Alun, just before the pandemic. Preferring black coffee over tea, he enjoys the complimentary biscuit, snack and drink options, as well as the famous quiz.

Sports is his specialist topic, with football trivia being a favourite, he even had to move off Alun’s team as they were too good at the football questions.

However, despite having moved to different tables, the two persist in their friendly rivalry as whenever a sporty question is announced, you can bet on John’s voice exclaiming ‘Did you get that one Alun?’.

Throughout his time at coffee morning, John has made lots of friends and has joined them on day trips organised by Coin Street staff. His favourite getaways have included trips to the seaside and market towns, as well as the annual Coin Street boat trip.

John has found coffee morning great for socialising and loves the opportunity it gives him to make friends and get to know other members of the community.  He appreciates the welcoming atmosphere that has been created by all who attend and run the sessions.
